gift
I made this for my sis for her 30th birthday. I draped it in disclaimers, about how it was craft and not art, that it was amateur and I really need to get a straightedge, that I wouldn't be offended if she didn't hang it.
She loved it. She said it was her favorite present she'd ever received. I told her if she was just trying to make me feel better, I was sufficiently duped.

I think this is so beautiful and had I not seen some images I recognized I would have thought some amazing artist in NYC made it and sold it at one of those modern crafty boutiques . . . Seriously, it's gorgeous and so cool. You are really good at so many things.
aw, shucks!
dude! i love this! it is most definitely art. you need no disclaimers!!!
GIRL! that is *gorgeous*. Aren't we ridiculous with our artist selves? I do the same thing, downplaying / questioning if I really am artistic or creative. This piece for your sister is simply incredible. Way to go.
Beautiful Ter! I'm sure Em is thrilled - can't believe she's 30! Still think of her as your "little" sister. Go on with your artist self!! You rock.
It's art and so very creative.
that is SO COOL. absolutely fantastic. what a beautiful thing you've done for your cherished sister.
I love this, too. And I think that the more creative you let yourself be, the more creative you'll be, you know? What an awesome gift.
That is such a lovely gift, and it's shocking but oh so very real that you would put a disclaimer on it. The words are lovely, the images all provoke the imagination, and the overall design just begs for exploration. It is satisfying on many levels. I want one, too!
Fabulous idea and creatively executed--love it!
It is fabulous! I really love it.
